(09/11/2006) Cade's first Attempt to read

Cade made his first attempt to read today! We were writing letters in the alphabet book, talking about letters and sounds. I wrote the word cat on a piece of paper and he slowly sounded it out a couple times until he saw it. It was like a light went on over his head... CAT he kept saying, I can read... His dad came upstairs to listen to him sound out the word CAT, BAT, RAT, and MAT. Usually when I have tried this in the past while reading a book he would say I don't want to, just read please. So today was pretty awesome watching him figure it out.
