(08/25/2006) Lolo Hot Springs

At around 6:00 this evening we packed up our stuff and headed for Lolo hot springs. When we got there Kathryn and I hung out in the hotel room so she could have something to eat while Hank and Cade went and checked out the soaking tub across the hall. At 8:30 my parents along with Kayla arrived at the hotel. Everyone hurried and got there swim suits on so they could go to the hot springs which was only open until 10. My mom and I stayed with Kathryn - she was still hungry and tired. Later we all stayed in the hotel room and talked for awhile before heading off to bed. Our room had two queen beds in it so Cade and Hank slept in one and Kathryn and I in the other. It was a long night Hank said Cade was practicing his swim stroke in his sleep, and Kathryn grunted and moaned all night long in her sleep!

This morning we had some snacks before we headed off at 8AM to go crystal digging. It was very cold and foggy this morning. Luckily once we started heading up the pass the sun was shinning, and it was clear blue skies. My dad brought the four wheeler, so at the bottom of the squishy road they took that out of the truck and Kayla and my dad rode that the rest of the way.

Everyone had a great time. My dad dove right in the honey hole and started digging with Hank. Kathryn fell asleep in the sling so I walked with her and did some digging. Of course my mom was as helpful as always and helped with Kathryn while I took some time to do a little digging without Kathryn around my neck. Cade and Kayla kept yelling “I found another crystal” By the time it was time to go their bags were full to the top with crystals. Cade kept falling over backwards trying to walk up the hill with his pack on. Everyone had a great time and had something to take home.
